Preparations for AFC Challenge Cup complete

Lalitpur March 23 - All the preparations for the AFC Challenge Cup 2010 group ‘C’ qualifiers slated to be held in Kathmandu from 26 to 30 March have been completed. Organizing a press conference at ANFA Complex, Satdobato Monday, vice president and spokesman of ANFA Lalit Krishna Shrestha informed that seven different sub committees have been formed to organize the matches smoothly and successfully.

Four teams including host Nepal, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Palestine are in group ‘C’ which is also considered the group of death. Two matches each will be featured on the 26th, 28th and 30th of March at Dashrath Stadium. Nepal will take on Palestine in the inaugural match. Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has sent two match commissioners, a referee assessor, four FIFA referees and five FIFA assistant referees to conduct the tournament.

The winners of the qualifying matches from each group and the best runner up among all the groups will qualify for the final round. The winner, runner up and second runner up of the last edition, India, Tajikistan and North Korea respectively, will get direct entry into the final round. The winner of the final round will directly qualify for the Asian Cup Football slated to be held in 2011.

Meanwhile, a 30-member Palestine Team arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday. The Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan teams are to arrive by Tuesday. The expected expense for the tournament is Rs 5.5 million.

Nepal will also be hosting AFC President Cup qualifiers, Asian Youth U-16 and Asian Youth U-19 qualifiers this year.

Hey friend, Im curious to know too if we can watch it on the internet. Perhaps a streaming website for Nepalese TV.

Sorry frens there is no any such internet sites which will be streaming the game live. NTV2 will broadcast all the matches live and I will try to find videos of goals and upload it. thanks
