Mega Three Star clinches a deal with Mitsubishi

KATHMANDU, July 12: Mega Three Star Club signed a one-year co-sponsorship deal with Nepal Leon Motors, the authorized dealer of Mitsubishi Motors for Nepal, on Tuesday.

Club president Lalit Krishna Shrestha and Leon Motors Executive Chairman Ashish Shrestha signed the MoU amidst a function in Patan.


As per the contract, Mega Three Star will receive Rs 275,000 and kits, and Mitsubishi´s logo will be displayed in the club´s jersey.

Leon Motors Executive Chairman Shrestha said he is hopeful that the contract will be renewed in the upcoming years. "We are proud to be associated with Mega Three Star,” said Shrestha. “One of the leading companies in Nepal picked one of the leading clubs of the country,” he added.

He said that the co-sponsorship deal will come into effect by the end of the Martyrs Memorial League as Leon Motors has to wait for the approval of Mitsubishi Motors, Japan.

Club president Shrestha said they would create an environment to renew the contract. “We cannot win the ongoing league but we´ll try to meet the expectations till the last match,” said Shrestha.

Constituent Assembly member Raj Kaji Maharjan said the club´s achievement in drawing in sponsors has been possible because of its management.

Atish Krishna Shrestha, country head of another co-sponsor Western Union Money Transfer, said the sponsorships could benefit the club´s players in the future. “On behalf of title sponsor Mega Bank and co-sponsor Western Union, I would like to thank Leon Motors. We are happy for the club,” said Shrestha.

With the new co-sponsorship deal, Mega Three Star has become the club to receive the highest sponsorship amount. The club has a total sponsorship deal worth Rs 2.94 million.
