Nepal to play both matches at home

KATHMANDU, May 26: Nepal will play both leg matches of the Asian qualifiers for the 2014 Brazil World Cup Football against Timor-Leste at the Dasharat Stadium, Kathmandu.

Nepal is scheduled to play against Timor during the initial stage of the qualifying on June 29 and July 3 at the Dasharath Stadium.


According to All Nepal Football Association, both the matches were scheduled to be held in Nepal as per an agreement between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the ANFA and club representatives on Thursday decided to postpone the matches of ongoing Martyrs Memorial Red Bull A Division League scheduled to be held from June 18- July 4 for Nepal´s World Cup qualifiers campaign.

The meeting held under the chairmanship of ANFA President Ganesh Thapa also decided to conduct three matches of the league each day from June 30. Two matches will be held at the Dasharath Stadium while another at the APF ground, Halchowk.

Similarly, the meeting has also decided to conduct league matches at the Halchowk ground only from June 15 to maintain the Dasharath Stadium for the World Cup qualifiers.

ANFA has decided to grant Rs 10,000 to each club of the A division league to help them reduce financial burden caused by the suspension of league fro 10 days.
“The proceeds of the World Cup qualifiers will be distributed equally among A division clubs,” said CEO Tuladhar.
