Pepsi Seven-A-Side kick off today

Kathmandu April 15, The second International Seven-A-Side Football Tournament kicks off here with a match against the hosts and Kalimpong team here at the Dasharath Stadium on Thursday.

Member secretary of the National Sport Council Jeevan Ram Shrestha will inaugurate the tournament sponsored by Pepsi. Sarina Housing and Rum Pum are the co-sponsors. Tribhuvan Army Club are up against Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) in another match.

Defending champions Manang Marshyangdi Club, New Road Team, Friends Club, Kathmandu Youth Club, Trinity Club, Inter Sports Club, Inter GPS, Nepal Police Club, Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club along with teams from Hong Kong, Manipur and West Bengal will also compete in the tournament.

The champions will walk away with Rs 150,000 while the runners up will receive Rs 75,000. The estimated cost of the tournament is Rs 1.97 million.

Group A: Host Team, Kalimpong, APF, Kathmandu Youth, Nepal Police, Inter Sports Club, Hongkong Team, Trinity Club

Group B: NRT, Inter GPS, Nepal Army, RCT, West Bengal, NIBL Friends, MMC, Manipur
