ANFA boys to tackle Amity United in semis

ORISSA, Feb 8 - ANFA Academy U-19 will take on Amity United of Hariyana in the semifinals of the All India Kalinga Knockout Football Tournament with a strong hope of prevailing over the Indian outfits, at the OSAP ground, on Monday.

Beaming with confidence after notching up a comfortable 2-1 win over Peerless Club of Kolkotta in the previous round, ANFA boss Kishor K.C. said Monday's game will be easier compared to the previous match after his team watched their adversary play against Assam State Electricity Board the other day.

"The win against Peerless Club has instilled a lot of confidence in our players. I think the upcoming game will be easier than the previous one. We are technically and tactically stronger than the Hariyana outfit," said K.C.

"Their (Amity) defense line is strong but if we can get the better of them in the back line, victory shouldn't be that hard." K.C. has named an unchanged squad for the upcoming game and said he would go all guns blazing to put pressure on the opponent from the very start.

Skipper Nirajan Malla, who assisted Shiva Shrestha for the first goal in the quarterfinal, said the team had gained enough confidence from the previous game and sufficient amount of rest from their tiring journey. "We have had enough rest and I hope we can perform better in the next game," he said.
