7 September 2009 - The 10th Congress of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) unanimously elected a 31-member executive committee on Monday.
Although President Ganesh Thapa and eight vice-presidents had no opposition candidacy, there were 36 candidates for 22 members.
On Monday, 14 of them withdrew them nominations paving the way for consensus. ANFA leadership were in talks for consensus for two days.
The new committee members include eight former members, eight representatives from districts and five members from clubs.
A board meeting of the newly elected committee will appoint the general secretary, treasurer and chief executive officer on Tuesday.
Dhirendra Pradhan, Birat Jang Shahi and Indra Man Tuladhar are likely to be nominated for the general secretary, treasurer and CEO respectively, according to an ANFA official who chose not to be named.
The congress, which concludes on Tuesday, is also expected to publish the annual calendar.
President Ganesh Thapa and eight vice presidents Lalit Krishna Shrestha, Mahesh Bista, Karma Tshering Sherpa, Narendra Shrestha, Kumar Jung Thapa, Kishor Rai, Bijay Narayan Manandhar and Sunil Kapali were declared winners on September 6, the last day to file candidacy, as they were the only candidates.
The members who got the serve the association for one more term include Basanta Aryal, Deepak Khati, Govardansingh Samjhana, Pankaj Bikram Nembang, Mani Kunwar, Ganesh Bhattarai, Ganesh Chand, and Sunil Rana.
The members representing B division clubs are Dinesh Byanjankar from Chyasal Youth Club, Chandra Kumar Maharjan from Bansbari Youth Club, Madhu Sudhan Upadhyaya from Bansbari Youth Club, Ramesh Rayamajhi from Navajyoti and Sajib Bahadur Shahi of Gyan Bhairav.
The members elected from districts are Mohammad Sami Ullah from Bara, Kiran Rai from Udayapur, Ratnakumar Shrestha from Tanahun, Bir Bahadur Khadka from Sindhupalchowk, Purushottam Adhikari from Sarlahi, Hari Prasad Shrestha from Rupandehi, Raju Shrestha and Purnaman Chitrakar from Chitwan and Prahlad Prasad Shah from Mahottari.
