June 8 - Wits Academy thrashed Vidhya Dayeni Boarding School 12-0 in the Central Region qualifiers for the Coca-Cola Nationwide Inter-school Football Tournament on Monday. At the ANFA Complex, Gopal Lama struck a hat-trick, while Sanjeev Lama and Abik Pakhrin scored two goals each for the winners. Ramesh Lama, Nawaraj Giri, Prakash KC, Santosh Baskota and Jeevan Karki also joined the goal scoring spree. In the other match, Roshan Dhakal struck twice as Manaslu Public School defeated Bijay Memorial School 2-0. Dhakal put Manaslu ahead in the 43rd minute and doubled the tally in the 77th minute.Also, Kailash Bodhi School overwhelmed Cambridge English School 8-2. Suraj Lama and Nawaraj Rijal scored two goals apiece, while Subash Lama, Sonam Lama, Arjun Tamang and Purba Lama netted one each for Kailash. Srijan Bajracharya and Akash Ghale replied for Cambridge. Likewise, Nishith Home Academy outplayed Adarsha School 6-1 riding on a hat-trick from Arjun Shahi. Tej Tamang, Sajan Silwal and Sagar Bhandari also netted for Nishith. Mukesh Tamang replied for Adarsha.

At the FIFA Technical Centre, Richmond Academy defeated Deepika Sikhshya Sadan 4-0. Arun Adarsha Ghimire put Richmond ahead in the eighth minute, while Kushal Poudel doubled the lead in the 41st minute. Arun Kunuwar then scored in the 46th and 56th minutes to seal the victory. National Model Science School beat Shrong Chen Bhrikuti 5-4 in sudden death after a goalless draw in the normal time.
