The game that saw Dharan create most of the chances ended in a 3-3 draw, courtesy an own goal each from Amar Subba and Charlie Rai, after both sides were unable to break the 2-2 stalemate in regulatory time. Amar Subba's own goal, five minutes after putting Dharan in the lead, spelled doom for Dharan. Subba opened the scoring for Dharan when he bulleted his header past the Bangla goalkeeper in the 37th minute of the game, but his joy was short-lived after his attempt to clear a free kick from the goalmouth ended at the back of the net. Charlie Rai piled more misery for Dharan scoring another own goal.
However, Budha Chemjong reignited Dharan's chances of survival four minutes from time scoring the equaliser from inside the penalty box. Chemjong again was in the thick of things givinig Dharan the lead in the opening minute of extra time scoring his double.
B.N Sports were reduced to nine-man seven minutes later, after the referee gave two of their players marching orders for their second book-able offences. Despite the numerical disadvantage, B.N Sports salvaged a draw three minutes from time to push the game into tiebreakers.
In the penalties, Suraj Sunwar and Charlie Rai converted for Dharan while Laxmi Shrestha and Buddha Chemjong were denied by the keeper.
